  • Palawan - In the midst of Palawan's unspoiled paradise, there were also families battling and enduring hunger and poverty long before the Corona virus pandemic hit the province.

    To support poverty reduction, hunger mitigation, and food security in urban and rural communities, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - Palawan Irrigation Management Office (PIMO), through the Irrigators Associations, conducted the Gulayamanan project in 2021 as a launch event of Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP).

  • Oriental Mindoro - Water falls as NIA MIMAROPA Regional Office and MOMARO IMO welcomes 2022 with the theme “Synergy. Sustainability. Security.” during the simultaneous nationwide NIA Ushering 2022 on January 5, 2022 at the NIA Compound, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. Occidental Mindoro IMO and Palawan IMO also conducted the same activity in their respective offices.

  • Oriental Mindoro - On its third year, NIA MIMAROPA headed by Regional Manager William P. Ragodon joins the nationwide simultaneous blood-letting activity on December 10, 2021. The said activity with the theme “Dugtong Buhay ni Bong Year 3” is part of the corporate social responsibility of the agency coinciding with NIA Administrator Ricardo R Visaya’s thanksgiving.

    Also present in the activity are Engineering and Operations Division Manager Lowell L. Lozano and Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron.

  • Occidental Mindoro - With NIA’s vision to provide efficient irrigation service for the inclusive growth of the country and in the improvement of the farmers' quality of life, the agency turns over completed projects in the province to qualified Irrigators Association led by NIA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin. This was conducted during the NIA-IA Congress on November 24, 2021.

    These completed projects are as follows:

  • Occidental Mindoro - Completed last August 30, 2021, this Php4-million irrigation project in the municipality of Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro is under the CY 2021 Program of NIA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office. Adlingin Pump Irrigation Project (PIP) consists of installation of 2 units of Solar Power Pump with complete accessories, drilling, casing installation, well development, pump house, and perimeter fence. The target area for generation of Adlingin PIP is 21.5 hectares and will benefit 13 farmers in the said municipality.

  • Occidental Mindoro - The restoration of Caguray River Irrigation System is under the CY 2021 Program of NIA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office. Caguray RIS is located in the municipality of Magsaysay in Occidental Mindoro. The project consists of installation of 4 units of Solar Power Pump among others. Completed on November 5, 2021, this will irrigate 20 hectares of farmland and will benefit 11 farmers in the municipality.

  • Palawan - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - Palawan Irrigation Management Office (PIMO) fast-tracks 70.08% development of Bagong Bayan Small Irrigation Project (SIP) as of September 15, 2021 located in El Nido which is set to benefit fifty (50) farmer-beneficiaries of Kasali ka Bagong Bayan Irrigator’s Association, Inc. in the third cropping period of 2021.

  • Occidental Mindoro - Seventeen (17) units of Shallow Tube Well (STW) were distributed to members of ALPHA Alipaoy-Harrison Irrigators Association of Paluan, Occidental Mindoro last July 21, 2021 during the turnover ceremony of Alpha Pump Irrigation (Phase 2) Project held at Brgy. 5, Paluan, Occ. Mindoro. This P5 million project serves irrigation water to about 61 hectares of agricultural land with 28 agrarian reform beneficiaries in both barangays of Alipaoy and Harrison in the municipality of Paluan.

  • Oriental Mindoro - The National Irrigation Administration Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon Irrigation Management Office (NIA MOMARO IMO) ensures timely and effective implementation of its CY2021 projects while observing proper health and safety protocols amidst pandemic. The irrigation management office completed the implementation of four (4) contracts early this third quarter of 2021.

  • MIMAROPA is once again recognized as the Best Regional Office while Palawan was hailed as the Best Irrigation Management Office for the year 2020 in National Irrigation Administration (NIA) nationwide. NIA MIMAROPA and Palawan previously held the title in 2018.

    Headed by Regional Manager William P. Ragodon and Division Manager Conrado V. Cardenas Jr., the two offices received the award during the virtual conduct of NIA’s 58th Founding Anniversary Celebration on June 22, 2021.
