  • San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - With the growing demand for effective communication strategies in the digital age, NIA MIMAROPA headed by Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, equipped the agency’s Public Relations Officers and Artist Illustrators with essential skills through the conduct of comprehensive training on basic news writing, photography, management of social media and events, and complaints handling on August 16-17, 2023 at NIA Training Center in San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.

  • Occidental Mindoro - In line with the agency’s ongoing initiative to foster collaboration among various government agencies and private sectors to enhance the well-being of farmers and other stakeholders within the agricultural sector, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (OMIMO), under the leadership of Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin, has undertaken a coordinated effort with the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the FY 2024 NIA-DPWH Convergence - Katubigan Program.

  • Aborlan, Palawan - In a remarkable feat of efficiency and dedication, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes and Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Armando L. Flores are fast-tracking the ongoing construction of Ibato-Iraan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP), the largest dam in Palawan.  The infrastructure, with a budget of P886 million, has achieved 91.76% completion as of July 31, 2023.

  • Oriental Mindoro - Under the health and wellness program of the agency, NIA MIMAROPA with the support of Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes conducted the Health Advocacy Seminar at the NIA Training Center, Bayanan II, Calapan City.

  • In a significant step towards enhancing infrastructure development and water management, joint inspections between the NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) and the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) were successfully carried out on August 8 and August 11, 2023. With the support of Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, these inspections aimed to assess and strengthen the projects that play a pivotal role in the irrigation and water management.

Perez conducted Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation System (BBRIS) Federation Convergence Meeting with different agricultural sector at Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on August 8, 2023.

  • Oriental Mindoro - Recently, Typhoon Egay and Typhoon Falcon have caused devastating effects, leaving behind heavy siltation and sediments in the Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation System dam in Brgy. Mulawin, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. This affects the water delivery of approximately 4,142 hectares of farmland in Naujan and Calapan City and could result in an estimated loss of 29 million in costs of standing crops.
