  • Puerto Princesa City, Palawan - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA), headed by Administrator Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen, is currently conducting cluster review workshop for the preparation of the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget proposal focusing on detailed discussions and finalizing Corporate Operating Budget proposals of regions 3, 4A, 4B, 5, and Balog-Balog Multipurpose Project (BBMP), led by Deputy Administrator for Engineering and Operations Sector Josephine B. Salazar.

  • In response to the challenges posed by El Niño on agricultural activities in the Cambunang Communal Irrigation System (CIS), San Miguel CIS, and Nasukob-Cavillian CIS in Bulalacao municipality, NIA MIMAROPA, led by Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, swiftly took action. A backhoe was deployed to excavate a section of the river, creating an impoundment that allowed farmers to extract water using pumps for irrigating their onion fields.

  • Aborlan, Palawan - To speed up the remaining works of the Ibato-Iraan Small Reservoir Irrigation Project (SRIP), NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes and Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Armando L. Flores held a meeting with Aborlan Local Government Unit (LGU) Mayor Jaime M. Ortega to coordinate necessary support for expediting the project’s completion.

  • Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro - In celebration of National Women's Month, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA held an informative seminar on Republic Act 10354, also known as the Responsible Parenthood and Reproductive Health Law of 2012 (RH Law). The seminar took place on March 4, 2024, at the NIA-IA Training Center in Bayanan II, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.

  • As part of the Rice Competitiveness Enhancement Fund (RCEF) Mechanization Program, spearheaded by the Philippine Center for Postharvest Development and Mechanization (PHilMech), three Irrigators' Associations (IAs) in Occidental Mindoro were awarded brand new Combine Harvesters during a ceremony held on February 29, 2024, at the Sta. Cruz Municipal Hall.

    The ceremony was graced by Sta. Cruz Municipal Mayor Hon. Ernesto Torreliza, Vice-Mayor Mark Galsim, Municipal Agriculturist Johnnie Ramos Jr., and PHilMech Science Research Analyst Engr. Kenneth Calderon.

  • Occidental Mindoro  - The NIA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (OMIMO) carried out a series of preconstruction conferences and a signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to accelerate the implementation of irrigation projects in the province for CY 2024. The six projects are Bubog Communal Irrigation System (CIS) and Batasan CIS in San Jose, Pagbahan River Irrigation System (RIS) Improvement of Service Road (ISR), and the repair project in Sta.

  • Narra, Palawan - Department of Agriculture (DA) Secretary Francisco P. Tiu Laurel Jr., along with National Food Authority (NFA) Administrator Roderico R. Bioco, and Palawan 2nd District Congressman Jose Chaves Alvarez, convened in Narra Palawan to relay and discuss the program of the government to the farmers and cooperatives of Narra in the 2nd district of the province as well as consult and understand their needs to identify opportunities for improvement and innovation within the agricultural sector and enhance the quality of agricultural services provided to them.

  • The NWM Celebration every March is part of the worldwide observance of International Women’s Day. It's an annual celebration honoring women and girls, advocating for their equal rights and representation. This year's theme remains "WE for gender equality and inclusive society".

    With this, NIA MIMAROPA led by Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, and the Irrigation Management Offices (IMOs) have lined up various activities for the celebration.

  • Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro - The NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) organized a mass contract signing event at the NIA Training Center and Pula-Bansud River Irrigation System Conference Hall, Oriental Mindoro on February 26-27, 2024. Led by Acting Division Manager Maria Victoria O. Malaneb, the event garnered the attendance of eighty-three (83) Irrigators Associations (IAs) from the 1st and 2nd District of Oriental Mindoro, showcasing strong support from the farming community.
