NIA Recognizes Balansay Mimping Irrigators Association, Inc as Nation's Most Outstanding CARP-IC IA for CY 2024

The Balansay Mimping Irrigators Association, Inc. (BMIA) of Mamburao, Occidental Mindoro, was named the Most Outstanding Irrigators Association for CY 2024 under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program-Irrigation Component (CARP-IC). This prestigious award was presented at the NIA Central Office in Edsa Diliman, Quezon City, during the "Daloy ng Tagumpay" celebration, marking NIA's 62nd anniversary.

This significant achievement highlights the strong leadership of BMIA President Roxanne Maranan and unwavering support from the National Irrigation Administration (NIA). Under Roxanne's guidance, building on the legacy of her late father, Noel Maranan, BMIA has transformed into an award-winning, self-reliant organization. Managing the 256-hectare Mamburao Communal Irrigation System, BMIA is recognized for its operational excellence, active participation in initiatives like Kadiwa ng Pangulo and EPAHP, and its steadfast commitment to improving the lives and socio-economic well-being of its farmer-members.

This success was made possible through the dedicated support of NIA MIMAROPA's leadership, including Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano, Occidental Mindoro IMO Division Manager Engr. Raymundo L. Calusin, and Operations, Institutional and Equipment Section Chief Engr. Edgard Laurenz M. Geronimo. Crucial guidance was also provided by the Institutional Development Program implementers, led by Engr. Ave Jane V. Alvarado, Senior Irrigators Development Officer (IDO) Joycelyn M. Tansiongco, and Irrigators Development Officers Vivian T. Dimzon and Ronnie G. Rapilo.

This recognition underscores how dedicated leadership and collaborative effort are crucial for agricultural progress and community development. BMIA's success provides an inspiring model for other irrigators' associations, demonstrating that effective governance and a commitment to service can significantly uplift farming communities and contribute to national food security. ©IDU
