MOMARO IMO Strengthened Project Planning for 2025 and 2026

Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office successfully conducted a three-day Performance Review and Planning Workshop. Led by Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab, the event was held at El Pueblo Rhizort and brought together Project-In-Charge (PICs), Institutional Development Program (IDP) implementers, and Accounting Personnel to meticulously review past and current projects and strategically plan for the future.

The workshop primarily focused on an in-depth examination of ongoing and completed projects from CY 2025 and previous years. This included a thorough analysis of implementation strategies and financial performance. A significant portion of the activity was also dedicated to preparing the CY 2026 Program of Works and Supplemental Programs, along with finalizing Project Completion Reports (PCRs).

By reflecting on the physical accomplishments and financial status of each project, the team aimed to identify completed initiatives, pinpoint recurring challenges, and discover areas for improvement. Participants were also encouraged to set individual commitments and targets for the successful completion of ongoing projects.

The Institutional Development Unit presented its CY 2025 2nd Quarter Accomplishment, showcasing progress across various key programs. These included the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty Program (EPAHP), the establishment and development of Irrigators Service Cooperatives, the National Convergence Program, and the Gulayan sa Patubigan initiative. The presentation also covered updates on the unit’s financial status, reflecting the effective utilization of resources in support of its institutional goals and ongoing development efforts.

In addition to discussions, a hands-on workshop was conducted where participants actively worked on and presented their Project Completion Reports for review and finalization. This practical approach ensured that all reports met established standards and contained accurate, up-to-date data.

The NIA MOMARO IMO believed that the joint commitments from PICs and IDP implementers would significantly strengthen project planning and evaluation mechanisms, ultimately refining construction processes and improving overall project delivery.
