Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA held an exit conference on June 13, 2025, to discuss the findings, observations, and recommendations from a comprehensive 20-day management audit. Conducted by the NIA Central Office Internal Audit Services (IAS), the audit focused on NIA MIMAROPA's procurement process, recruitment and selection, and property management.
Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes emphasized preserving best practices and improving deficiencies.Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron highlighted the audit as an opportunity for learning and refining processes.
IAS Department Manager Atty. Pepito L. Padilla commended NIA MIMAROPA employees for their continuous hard work. He reiterated that IAS's primary role is to offer constructive guidance for continuous improvement, with the audit team emphasizing that implementing their recommendations will bring substantial benefits to the communities served by NIA. The audit team, from the NIA Central Office’s Organization and Management Audit Division, was led by Division Manager Maria Kathleen Barbosa, MDM, and included Chief Internal Control Officer Nenita H. Ramon; Senior Internal Control Officers A Romillo F. Cudal Jr., Christine A. Corpuz, and Melvincent C. Cablayan; Senior Internal Control Officer B Madel B. Garan; and Internal Control Officer A Louis Albert B. Saddi.
Key personnel present at the conference included Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab, Administrative Section Chief Joy U. Bautista, Planning, Design and Construction Section Chief Engr. Suzanne J. San Juan, and Operations, Institutional and Equipment Section Chief Engr. Edgard Laurenz M. Geronimo, along with their respective staff and concerned personnel from Occidental Mindoro IMO. Personnel from Palawan IMO, led by Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores and Occidental Mindoro IMO Division Manager Engr. Raymundo L. Calusin, participated virtually.
