NIA MOMARO IMO Launches Gulayamanan Project in Oriental MIndoro, Promoting Sustainable Agriculture

Oriental Mindoro - Under the management of NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, the NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO), headed by Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab conducted the Launching of Gulayamanan sa Kanal at Calapan and Naujan Oriental Mindoro.

The Gulayamanan project aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices among local communities. Sta. Rita, Balingayan, Personas, Comunal-Irrigators’ Association (SABAPECO-IA Inc.) Inc. and Biga-West Main Canal Irrigators’ Association, Inc. actively participated in the planting of seedlings including eggplant, tomato, squash, okra, sitaw and kangkong which were generously donated by the City Agricultural Services Department and Provincial Agriculturist’s Office headed by Hon. Marilou F. Morillo and Ms. Christine M. Pine.

This initiative not only supports local food production but also strengthens the community’s involvement in sustainable agriculture, aligning with NIA MOMARO IMO’s commitment to enhancing the agricultural sector in the region.

Senior Engineer A Jinky M. Mañebo, Baco-Bucayao RIS Head Engr. Bienvenido S. Anterola, Senior Irrigators’ Development Officer Ailyn E. Aquino and IDP implementers were also present in the activity.
