Calapan City, Oriental MIndoro - NIA MIMAROPA, led by Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, and Insight Supply Chain Solutions (InsightSCS) Corporation, led by Chief Executive Officer Pierre Carlo Curay, officially signed a contract for the procurement of six thousand forty-three (6,043) bags of certified hybrid and inbred palay seeds for sixty (60) Irrigators Associations (IAs) of the region at the Office of the Regional Manager Conference Room, Bayanan 2, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on May 3, 2024.
This activity was successfully conducted in line with the implementation of the Contract Farming scheme under NIA Farming Support Project, after the identification of initial production areas, orientation meeting with beneficiary leaders of identified Irrigators Association (IAs), contract presentation, dialogue and negotiations with beneficiary IA/FIA/ISC leaders and members, and region-wide mass signing of contract/ Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) by and between Irrigators Association and NIA MIMAROPA.
Supply and delivery of said seeds are scheduled on the following week through the Irrigation Management Offices (IMOs) of Mindoro Oriental – Marinduque – Romblon (MOMARO), Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan to be distributed per IA. The procurement of fertilizers and pesticides is currently undergoing post-qualification for the Lowest Calculated Bidder.
Officials also present for the contract-signing activity were Division Manager for Engineering and Operations Engr. Lowell L. Lozano, Division Manager for Administrative and Finance Ms. Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, members of the Bids and Awards Committee (BAC) and Operations and Maintenance Unit.
