Occidental Mindoro - To ensure efficient and reliable irrigation development programs, the NIA Occidental Mindoro IMO conducted NIA-IA Consultation Workshop last February 7-8, 2023. This was held in two batches, the MAPSSA Area which include IAs in the municipalities of Mamburao, Abra de Ilog, Paluan, Sta. Cruz and Sablayan and batch two, in SAMARICA Area comprising the municipalities of San Jose, Magsaysay, Rizal and Calintaan. This 2-day consultation workshop was designed to identify immediate or priority works within each irrigation systems and be considered in finalizing the FY 2024 list of propose projects to be presented at the congress for budget prioritization. This undertaking is one of the strategies of the new administration for effective facilitation and implementation of plans, projects and programs of the agency that will provide consistent and dependable irrigation systems and will contribute or improve productivity and increase farmer’s income.
The said activity was spearheaded by the Acting Division Manager Maria Victoria O. Malenab together with the assistance of the Technical and Operations Section headed by Senior Engineer Emelito V. Urriquia and Supervising Engineer Nojario Baladjay, Jr. and from Institutional Development Unit headed by Sr. IDO Edwin V. Arevalo and with the presence of the House of Representative District Officer Mr. Zernan Toledo, a representative on behalf of Congressman Leody Tarriela.
After deliberation and enlisting of priority works, the participants were able to come up with the list of projects subject for validation and recommendation of the irrigation management office.
