NIA MIMAROPA CONDUCTS MONTHLY PERFORMANCE REVIEW

NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronie Cervantes leads the Monthly Performance Review at the NIA Training Center, Bayanan II, Calapan City. The two-day activity aims to closely monitor the status of the physical and financial accomplishment of ongoing and carry-over projects and to ensure the unhampered delivery of services to all farmer-beneficiaries and other stakeholders of NIA. Moreover, this activity aims to help the agency in monitoring the progress of the irrigation development within the locality, which is a significant indicator of the overall performance of NIA MIMAROPA.

Acting Regional Manager Cervantes reminded the employees with the following:

  • Fast track the implementation of the ongoing and carryover projects regionwide;
  • Prioritize the request of irrigation projects of the Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) in their respective provinces per Irrigation Management Office (IMO) for the FY 2024 project listing and coordinate them with the Congressional districts;
  • Request the contractors to consider the IA members to be part of the labor force of the project implementation;
  • Conduct soil analysis to have an accurate assessment of soil’s fertility in the area in coordination with the Department of Agriculture (DA) and Bureau of Soils and Water Management (BSWM);
  • Strengthen the IAs and form them into cooperative per municipality;
  • Ensure that the IA members are provided with assistance to avail the programs of other National Government Agencies; and
  • Double the efforts in the implementation of the Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) program by entering the IAs into Marketing Agreement with partner agencies and other stakeholders to increase the farmers’ income.

He presented and shared all the good practices and accomplishment of the town through film showing.
