Twelve (12) Irrigators Associations Join Forces for Lingap sa Mamamayan ng Sta. Cruz under PBBM Kadiwa Program

Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro - Twelve Irrigators Associations from Sta. Cruz, Occidental Mindoro joined forces in a significant community effort to support the PBBM KADIWA PROGRAM through an initiative titled 'Lingap sa Mamamayan ng Sta. Cruz.' These Irrigators Associations are currently displaying their rice for the community's benefit, selling it for only 35 pesos per kilo at Sta. Cruz Municipal Gymnasium, Mulawin. This event aims to provide quality and affordable rice to the community.

Led by the Pederasyon ng mga Magpapatubig ng Sta. Cruz, Inc., in collaboration with the NIA Occidental Mindoro IMO under the leadership of Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin, including Senior IDO Edwin Arevalo and IDP implementers, they successfully gathered 2,100 kilograms of well-milled rice. This affordable product is now benefiting nearly 200 people, including fisherfolk and indigenous people.

Sta. Cruz Municipal Mayor Ernesto Torreliza and Municipal Agriculturist Jhonnie Ramos are gracing the event, commending the Irrigators Associations for their significant effort. They expressed their full support for such endeavors, highlighting the importance of community-driven initiatives in improving local livelihoods.

The IAs involved are Alacaak-Pagbahan IA, Kurtinganan-Sta, Cruz IA, Mulawin Aribugan IA, Ramayan San Vicente IA, Casague Salagan IA, Amnay Cabagan IA, Samahang Magsasaka ng Kabangkalan para sa Kaunlaran, Baclaran-Pinagturilan, Baribuan Upper Lumangbayan IA, Mambog-Barahan IA, Lusakan Sinagtala IA, and Dayap Lumangbayan IA.
