Oriental Mindoro - NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes led the MIMAROPA Regional Federation of Irrigators’ Association (RFIA) Election of Officers on March 9, 2023 at the NIA MIMAROPA Training Center, Bayanan II, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. This activity aims to elect new set of officers of IA in the MIMAROPA Regional level. Moreover, this activity aims to conduct the first BOT Meeting of RFIA as these officers will represent and serve as a channel to the interest of all IAs in the region.
Acting Regional Manager Cervantes encouraged the Federation Presidents to strengthen their Irrigators’ Associations as the agency’s target is to form one cooperative within a municipality in a province in order to expand their agricultural bargaining power through collaboration and convergence with the government line agencies.
He also stated that his mission as an Acting Regional Manager of NIA MIMAROPA is to help provide quality, efficient and effective irrigation system to the farmers in the region. Thus, he ensures that all their concerns with regards to the quality of the construction of any irrigation facilities in the region will be addressed properly and accordingly.
Present also during the activity are Engineering and Operations Division Manager Lowell L. Lozano, Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, Operations Section Chief Engr. Shirley G. Bahia, Institutional Development Unit Head Engr. Ave Jane V. Alvarado, institutional development program implementers and Provincial Federation of IA Presidents under National and Communal Irrigation Systems.
