NIA Successfully Turns Over Two Completed Irrigation Systems in Gloria, Oriental Mindoro

Gloria, Oriental Mindoro - One hundred forty-nine farmers celebrated a significant milestone on February 14, 2025, with the ceremonial turnover of the Agsalin and Lower Banus Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS). These two projects, valued at ₱5,000,000.00 and serving a total of 186 hectares, were officially handed over to the Agsalin Farmers Irrigators Association (AGFIA) Inc. and the Banus-Agsalin Irrigators’ Association, Inc. by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA.

Under the direction of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, and with the supervision of NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab, the turnover ceremony included the symbolic presentation of keys by Pula River Irrigation System (RIS)/Bongabong River Irrigation Project (BRIP) Officer-In-Charge, Engr. Benedict Santi S. Perez. This event underscores NIA's commitment to empowering farmers through sustainable irrigation and contributing to regional agricultural growth.
