NIA Rice Farming Support Program: MOMARO IMO Distributes Hybrid Rice Seeds to Oriental Mindoro Irrigators' Associations

Oriental Mindoro - Under the supervision of NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, the NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) distributed 1,165 bags (3 kg/bag) of Hybrid Rice Seeds to five local Irrigators' Associations. The distribution was led by NIA MOMARO IMO Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab and attended by Pula-Bansud RIS Head Bienvenido S. Anterola, Senior Irrigators’ Development Officer Ailyn E. Aquino, and Agronomist A Jonalyn M. Umali.

The recipients included Samahang Magpapatubig ng Bayanan 2 Irrigators’ Association, Inc., Aurora Naujan Oriental Mindoro Irrigators Association, Inc., Mapalo Water System Irrigators Association, Inc., Sumviltad Irrigators Association, Inc., and Aklejo Farmers Irrigators’ Association, Inc.

This initiative is part of NIA MIMAROPA's ongoing efforts to support local farmers and enhance agricultural productivity through the provision of high-quality seeds. The use of Hybrid Rice Seeds is expected to significantly increase crop yields, contributing to the overarching goal of achieving food security in the region.
