Occidental Mindoro - In line with the unwavering commitment of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) to uplift the lives of farmers, the Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (OMIMO) conducted a transformative training on Agribusiness for members of the Irrigators' Association (IA) under the Lumintao River Irrigation System (RIS) on October 11, 2023, at NIA sub-office in Rizal. Sitio Payompon Ramos Estate IA, Matabiaga Malawaan IA, and Malawaan 4th Intake Farmers IA were among the participants who attended the seminar.
This initiative, led by NIA-MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes and NIA-OMIMO Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin, featured a detailed presentation on the step-by-step procedure for creating dishwashing liquid, along with strategies for effectively marketing the product. The primary objective of this activity is to empower farmers with the resources and knowledge to enhance productivity, increase profitability, and ensure long-term sustainability to improve their livelihood.
Among the facilitators were Senior Water Resource Facility Technician (SWRFT) Dante Bueno, Community Relations Officer Ronnie G. Rapilo, Irrigators’ Development Officer (IDO) Raffy M. Prado, and Data Encoder Dexter C. Lasac, who collectively contributed to the success of the event.
