Occidental Mindoro - NIA Occidental Mindoro IMO, under the management of Acting Division Manager Maria Victoria O. Malenab, conducted System Management Committee Meeting (SMC) for Wet Crop Season last May 17, 2023, at San Roque, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro.
The program's objective is to enhance the collaboration among NIA, Irrigator’s Association (IAs), Local Government Units (LGUs), and other related organizations to pursue agricultural productivity by offering needed services and programs to farmers during the cropping season.
Chief of Operations Section Engr. Emelito V. Urriquia presented the Operations and Maintenance Plan CY 2023 where he highlighted the Cropping Calendar and schedule of water delivery for the 5 National Irrigation System (NIS); Caguray RIS, Lumintao RIS, Amnay Patrick and Mongpong RIS and Pagbahan RIS. Moreover, possible adjustments were recommended to the schedule in order to address the potential impact of the pronounced El Niño.
Present also during the meeting were MIMAROPA Principal Engineer Shirley G. Bahia, Supervising IDO Ave Jane V. Alvarado, APCO DA-MIMAROPA OIC Eddie D. Buen, PCIC Representative Randy Pogoso, LGUs, other key personnel and officials of NIA-MIMAROPA and Irrigators Association (IA) Representatives.
