NIA MOMARO IMO Conducted Refresher Course on Financial Management for Over 70 Farmers of Communal Irrigation Systems

Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro-To support the sustainable operations of Irrigators Associations (IAs), the National Irrigation Administration – Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon Irrigation Management Office (NIA MOMARO IMO) conducted a Financial Management Seminar Refresher Course on May 20, 2025, at the NIA Satellite Office.

The activity was attended by Presidents, Secretaries, and Treasurers of IAs under the Communal Irrigation System (CIS).

The seminar aimed to reorient IA farmer-officers on compliance and reportorial requirements mandated by partner agencies such as the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), and National Water Resources Board (NWRB).

Resource speakers included Mary Jane Dominguez, Head of the NWRB Permit Section; Ogie L. Galicia, CPA and owner of Debit Express Solutions; and Ma. Judith K. Mendeja, CPA and owner of JKM Accounting and Auditing Services.

Among the regional officials present were Senior Irrigators Development Officer (IDO) Irene V. Gayos; Senior IDO for the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program – Irrigation Component (CARP-IC), Joy Celyn M. Tansiongco; IDO A Lovely D. Ricablanca; and Agronomist B Rosemarie Kate N. Mutya. Also in attendance were MOMARO IMO Supervising IDO Alona L. Soco and other technical personnel from the Institutional Development Unit. Participants from Marinduque and Romblon joined virtually.
