Bansud, Oriental Mindoro - The NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) held a Turn-Over Ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of the Palabiga Manihala Communal Irrigation System (CIS) and the Markang Bato CIS.
NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and NIA MOMARO IMO Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab presided over the ceremony, which marked the official handover of these irrigation projects to the local farmers. These newly completed systems will irrigate a total of 354.30 hectares of farmland, directly benefiting 185 farmers by ensuring a more stable and reliable water supply for their crops.
This initiative was a significant step in boosting agricultural productivity in the municipality, reflecting NIA’s dedication to empowering farmers through sustainable irrigation development. Local farmers and stakeholders expressed heartfelt gratitude for this much-needed support, knowing it would lead to better harvests and brighter futures for their families.
