Oriental Mindoro - To develop and maintain irrigation systems in support of the government's agricultural program and provide an adequate level of irrigation service on a sustainable basis in partnership with farmers and the local government unit, NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes led the ceremonial turnover of the P19.6 million Sigange Small Irrigation Project (SIP) in Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro on June 29, 2023.
The project under the program of Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) will provide irrigation services to 83 hectares of farmland of the 34 beneficiaries of Sigange Irrigators Association.
The works undertaken in this project include a dam, main and lateral canal, other canal structures, and IA office.
MOMARO IMO Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, Bongabong Mayor Hon. Eligio Malaluan, Barangay Sigange Captain Hon. Ariel Estrope, IA President Leonard A. Sol, and Rev. Fr. Anthony Ibarra Banawa Fabella were also present in the project turnover.
