NIA MIMAROPA PALAWAN IMO CONDUCTS ORIENTATION ON DFWP AND DRUG TESTING FOR EMPLOYEES

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA, under the management of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, and NIA Palawan IMO, headed by Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores held an orientation on Drug Free Workplace Program (DFWP) in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Palawan, and successfully conducted drug testing for employees in collaboration with Clinica Palao laboratory, duly authorized by the Department of Health (DOH) for screening and drug tests.

The orientation included valuable insights from PDEA Palawan Information Officer (IO) I Analyn A. Acmo, and IO I Marianne O. Palatino, who discussed drug identification, ill effects, associated risks, prevention strategies, and emphasized the importance of maintaining DFWP. This program sought to educate the Agency’s staff on potential risks posed by substance abuse, to recognize and prevent drug-related incidents, and to foster a work environment that prioritizes employee safety and well-being.

This endeavor demonstrates the Agency’s commitment to complying with MC No. 56 series of 2016 to have a safe workplace where every individual can efficiently fulfill their duties without compromise, thereby upholding the integrity and reputation of the Agency.
