Narra, Palawan - To stimulate economic development and bolster food security, National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, and Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores launched Kadiwa ng Pangulo (KNP) coincided with the Municipality of Narra’s Nutrition Month celebration in Barangay Poblacion. At this event, 23 Irrigators' Associations (IAs) collaborated to provide 24 sacks of rice, which were offered to consumers for 29 pesos per kilogram.
This endeavor supports President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s agenda to enhance the livelihood of local farmers and provide residents with access to affordable, locally sourced food. By eliminating intermediaries from the supply chain, this program ensures that farmers receive fair compensation for their produce while allowing consumers to purchase fresh goods directly from local growers.
President Briones of the Narra South Federation of IA expressed gratitude towards NIA Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen for his steadfast support to IAs and highlighted how beneficial this event was for residents who were able to access affordable rice. He also thanked association leaders for their commitment to supporting President Marcos's Kadiwa program.
The NIA MIMAROPA is committed to continuing the KNP program as part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen food security and support economic resilience across the region.
