San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA successfully conducted the turnover of leadership for Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (IMO) on July 18, 2023, at NIA Training Center in San Jose.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone in the agency’s commitment to effective irrigation management and agricultural development in the province. This event highlighted the symbolic passing of the baton of leadership from Acting Division Manager Maria Victoria O. Malenab to Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin.
MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes who presided the ceremony, commended Engr. Malenab for her dedication and commitment in serving the Occidental Mindoro IMO over the past nine months. He also expressed gratitude for her invaluable contributions to the office’s mission and achievements during her tenure. Engr. Malenab will be returning to her original post in Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) IMO as the Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation System (BBRIS) Head.
Moreover, Acting Regional Manager Cervantes extended a warm welcome to Engr. Calusin, who returns to Occidental Mindoro after being a Division Manager of Engineering and Operations at Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR). He expressed his excitement for the projects that Engr. Calusin has planned for the agency, recognizing his extensive experience and expertise in irrigation management. Engr. Calusin’s tenure in CAR has equipped him with good practices that he can now pass on and teach to the Occidental Mindoro IMO.
He further concluded his message by requesting the officials and staff of Occidental Mindoro IMO to give their full support and cooperation to Engr. Calusin. “Good luck with your new assignment. With this workforce, we will be stronger and greater. Let us support NIA MIMAROPA in achieving NIA’s mission and vision and the Administrator’s 7-point strategic policy agenda," he added.
Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez - Aceron, MOMARO IMO Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, and CAR Administrative Services Officer Rita L. Afidchao served as witnesses for the said event together with employees of Regional Office, MOMARO IMO, Occidental Mindoro IMO, and NIA - CAR. Palawan IMO Division Manager Armando L. Flores and employees also joined in virtual attendance.
