Occidental Mindoro - Occidental Mindoro IMO spearheads NIA-LGU Coordination Meeting at NIA- Training Center, San Roque, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro yesterday February 28, 2023. This activity aims to update Systems inventory and finalize the Provincial Irrigation Master Plan of Occidental Mindoro. The said activity was attended by the Municipal Agriculturist and Municipal Planning and Development Officers of Magsaysay, Paluan, Calintaan and Rizal. Provincial Government representatives joined also the activity represented by the Provincial Agriculturist Engr. Alrizza Zubiri, Provincial Planning and Development representative Ms. Joanna Mae Tiuzen and Engr. Rodolf Asejo of Provincial Agriculture and Biosystem Engineering.
Present also during the meeting were Senior Engineer Emelito V. Urriquia, Senior IDO Edwin V. Arevalo, Senior Engineer Jman Castillo, Supervising Engineer Ryn Jhon Masangkay and other support staff.
As an output, the delegates were able to list down proposed area for irrigation considering intervention on upland and rain fed areas. Also, to update inventory of irrigation systems each Municipal Agriculturists identified irrigation systems implemented by Other Government Agencies (OGA) and under private systems whether the service area is within the NIA assisted irrigation systems. This is to avoid double entry and to finalize verified data on irrigation development.
