Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro –With the support of Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) headed by Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez conducted Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation System (BBRIS) Federation Convergence Meeting with different agricultural sector at Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro on August 8, 2023.
Representatives from the Department of Agriculture (DA), Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgO), Calapan City Agriculture and Services Department, and Department of Science and Technology (DOST) shared their plans and programs that will benefit the Irrigators' Associations (IA) and its members during the activity.
This convergence meeting with other agencies aimed to improve the delivery of services to clients. During the activity, the issues concerning farming activities, distribution of different interventions to farmers, implementation status of the operation and maintenance plan, and the issues and concerns of the IAs were discussed and addressed accordingly.
The event was also attended by MOMARO IMO Principal Engineer Maria Victoria O. Malenab, Institutional Development Program (IDP) implementers, operations personnel, Babucanaw Irrigators' Association, Farmers Associations, Agricultural Program Coordinating Officer Artemio D. Casareno, Provincial Agricultural Technologist Lariza G. Metante, City Agriculture and Service Department Officer Lorelein V. Sevilla, and Department of Science and Technology Provincial Director Jesse M. Pine.
