Occidental Mindoro - National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (IMO), headed by Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin and with the support of MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, conducted a Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Establishment of Groundwater of Lubang Solar-Powered Irrigation Pump (SPIP) last July 20, 2023, in Barangay Tagbac, Sitio Tangaway, Lubang.
The P29.3M project covers the installation of 14 units of SPIP that was awarded to Dawning Construction. The project will take approximately 270 calendar days, which already started last July 3, 2023, and is estimated to be completed on March 28, 2024. Upon completion, this project will benefit a total of 76 farmers.
Present during the ceremony were Municipal Mayor Micheal L. Orayani, Sangguniang Bayan Municipal Agriculturist Mrs. Ellena V. Morales, Municipal Engineer Paul Vincent Villas, Provincial Agriculture Officer Mr. Cesar Morales, Tagbac Barangay Captain Allan Lomocso and Tangal Barangay Captain Ricardo Tarras, Western Irrigators Association Inc. members headed by Engr. Enrique Villas Sr., Department of Agriculture (DA) staff and NIA PIC Engr. Jexter Untalan.
