Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro - The NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO), along with participating irrigators' associations, launched the "Kadiwa sa NIA" program on July 4, 2024.
This initiative aims to benefit the consumers in the community. Farmers offer rice at an affordable price of Php 29.00 per kilo, alongside a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables. The event took place in front of the Pula Bansud RIS office, Brgy. Zone 3.
The launch was led by NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, alongside key officials including Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano, Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, and NIA MOMARO IMO Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab. 2nd District Representative Hon. Alfonso V. Umali, Jr. also attended the said activity.
The "Kadiwa sa NIA" initiative is set to make a positive impact by directly connecting farmers with consumers, promoting agricultural sustainability, and offering high-quality produce at competitive prices.
