ADVANCING AGRICULTURAL EFFICIENCY: NIA MIMAROPA'S PIONEERING EVALUATION OF CRAWL-TYPE EXCAVATORS

Naujan, Oriental Mindoro - Under NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes' guidance, Engineering and Operations Division Manager Lowell L. Lozano assesses the performance of new crawl-type excavators on January 5, 2024 at the Baco-Bucayao RIS dam in Mulawin, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. These specialized machines prove invaluable for dam and canal maintenance, excelling in challenging conditions, including steep slopes and waterlogged environments.

The rigorous evaluation process covers excavation speed, fuel consumption, maneuverability, stability, and operator comfort. MIMAROPA's commitment to modern technologies, in line with NIA Administrator Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen's directives, aims to enhance the efficiency of the irrigation system, benefiting farmers in the region.

Additionally, the NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon Irrigation Management Office (IMO), led by Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, conducts inspections at the Mag-Asawang Tubig RIS dam in Mapalo River, Brgy. Pinagsabangan I, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. This initiative underscores the region's dedication to ensuring a sustainable and advanced irrigation system for agricultural prosperity.
