NIA MIMAROPA Boosts Solar Pump Efficiency with New Monitoring System

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA held a coordination meeting at the NIA IA Training Center in Bayanan II.

With the full support of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and spearheaded by Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano, the meeting focused on enhancing the monitoring and operations of completed solar pump irrigation projects.

The core objective of this gathering was to ensure the smooth and effective implementation of the monitoring system, Agroscout—an advanced GIS-based software designed for managing off-grid solar pump irrigation projects. This involved aligning the Engineering, Operations and Maintenance, and IT teams on key aspects of the new system, ultimately aiming to maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of solar pump irrigation projects through real-time data and new GIS capabilities.

Yonatan Reznik, Computer Systems Head of Innovative Agro Industry, was invited as the resource person and shared his expertise with the participants.

Attendees included engineering and operations personnel from the Regional Office and the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon Irrigation Management Office (MOMARO IMO). Concerned personnel from the Occidental Mindoro IMO and Palawan IMO also participated virtually.
