Lumintao, Occidental Mindoro – A four-day canal clearing operation was recently completed at the Lumintao River Irrigation System, specifically the Sub-Lateral "AS-1," which has a 743-meter canal length including its headgate. Thirty-five residents from Barangay Malawaan, Rizal, Occidental Mindoro, participated in this effort.
Conducted through the DOLE-TUPAD Program, the initiative aimed to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of irrigation water to local farmers. This directly benefited the Matabiaga Malawaan Irrigators Association, supporting their agricultural endeavors.
The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (IMO) extended its sincere appreciation to all TUPAD beneficiaries and partners. Their dedication to maintaining these irrigation systems was crucial for sustaining agriculture and securing food production in the province.
