Strategic Planning and Assessment: NIA MIMAROPA's Collaborative Workshop for Irrigation Systems Evaluation and Improvement

IMO Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab, Occidental Mindoro IMO Division Manager Engr. Raymundo L. Calusin and Palawan IMO Division Mananager Engr. Armando L. Flores- and key personnel from Engineering, Operations and Institutional Development from the Regional Office and IMO attended the Strategic Planning Workshop and CY 2023 Year-end Assessment & Inventory of Irrigation Systems today at the NIA Central Office Command Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila.

The workshop, conducted both on-site and online, was organized by the Operations Department under its Acting Department Manager Engr. Eusebio S. Villamanto. It was spearheaded by the Systems Management Division in collaboration with Corporate Planning Services, with a primary focus on evaluating project accomplishments and conducting an inventory of all irrigation systems (National, Communal, Private, and OGA-Assisted Irrigation Systems) as of December 31, 2023.

Each IMO and the Regional Office presented its data before the panel for discussion and critique. The panel, composed of SMD-OD Engr. Maria Lourdes J. Garriga, Engr. Louie Mendoza, Engr. Jinky Lou Gumtang, and other personnel from NIA SMD-OD, provided valuable inputs and reminders for improvement to each presentation. Lastly, they also discussed the ways forward to ensure that any unmet targets are accomplished within the agreed timeline.
