Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Marks Completion of Malatgao River Irrigation System in Aborlan, Palawan

Palawan - NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the lateral AN from the CY 2024 Malatgao River Irrigation System (RIS) project in the municipality of Aborlan.

This milestone included the construction of 116 meters of canal lining and 6 meters of road crossing to support irrigation across 598 hectares of farmland in Aborlan, Palawan.

The project will directly benefit 164 members of Agkakaruba Irrigators Association (IA), 129 members of Paradise Teleng FIA, and 92 farmers from Samahang Magsasaka ng Apo-aporawan at Paradahan IA.

NIA MIMAROPA aims to empower farmers by implementing irrigation projects that will serve as a foundation for agricultural development and food security toward a more prosperous future.
