Occidental Mindoro - With NIA’s vision to provide efficient irrigation service for the inclusive growth of the country and in the improvement of the farmers' quality of life, the agency turns over completed projects in the province to qualified Irrigators Association led by NIA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin. This was conducted during the NIA-IA Congress on November 24, 2021.
These completed projects are as follows:
- Batasan CIS (San Jose) - Php 4.5M
- Monte Claro CIS (San Jose) - Php 6.3M
- Sto. Niño CIS Mangat Area (Rizal) - Php 7M
- Sto. Niño CIS (Rizal) - Php 9M
- Sta. Fe CIS (San Jose) - Php 15M
- Dayap CIS (Sta. Cruz) - Php 9.8M
- Manoot CIS (Rizal) - Php 5.1M
Present during the activity is Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, on behalf of Regional Manager William P. Ragodon and other representatives of different government agencies. It was participated by IA presidents and officers from National Irrigation Systems (NIS) and Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS).
Another part of the ceremony is the orientation of the Devolution Program where the management of Communal Irrigation Systems will be transferred to Local Government units.
Aside from the turnover of projects and orientation on devolution, one of the highlights of the congress is the distribution of subsidies to the Irrigators Association for the operation and maintenance of irrigation systems that they manage.
