NIA PALAWAN IMO Successfully Conducts CY 2024 Year-End Assessment and Strategic Planning for CY 2025

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan - The NIA MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and with the support of EOD Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano, successfully conducted the CY 2024 Year-End Assessment and Strategic Planning for CY 2025 of the Region 4B Federation of Irrigators' Associations (R4BFIA) on January 23-24, 2025.

The NIA MIMAROPA Institutional Development Unit (IDU), headed by Engr. Ave Jane V. Alvarado, played a key role in supporting and strengthening the R4BFIA's effectiveness. Recognizing the R4BFIA as a vital platform for addressing irrigation-related challenges, improving operational efficiency, and enhancing agricultural productivity, the activity aimed to further build the federation's capacity to serve its members.

The program included presentations of the CY 2024 Physical and Financial Accomplishment Reports, which thoroughly reviewed the year’s performance, achievements, and challenges. These findings served as the foundation for developing a comprehensive plan to address identified issues, enhance the federation's performance, foster unity and collaboration among member Irrigators' Associations (IAs), and ensure the federation's long-term sustainability.

To ensure operational and financial viability, the R4BFIA Officers and Board of Trustees (BOT) discussed and finalized the CY 2025 Physical and Financial Plan, guided by EOD Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano and the IDU Regional Office and IMO focal persons.

In his message, Regional Manager Cervantes expressed his gratitude for the R4BFIA's continuous support for the agency’s programs, particularly the Farmers Support Services Program. He highlighted that the region's successful harvests reflect the strong partnership between NIA and the farmers.

In response, R4BFIA President Patricio M. Laberez, Jr. expressed his gratitude to the NIA MIMAROPA management for its unwavering support and assistance to Irrigators' Associations across the region. He also thanked them for providing an office within the NIA compound, which will serve as a venue for future meetings and other related activities.

Also present during the activity were the officers and BOT of R4BFIA, alongside Palawan IMO Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores, IDU Regional Office Sr. IDO Irene V. Gayos, Palawan IMO Sr. IDO Glenda G. Buenavista, MOMARO IMO Sr. IDO Engr. Ailyn E. Aquino, Occidental Mindoro IMO Sr. IDO Edwin V. Arevalo, and other focal persons from the respective IMOs.
