Narra, Palawan- The NIA MIMAROPA, under the leadership of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and Palawan IMO Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores, held a Capability Building for Enhanced Leadership with IA Women Leaders Cum NIA-IA Day on January 14, 2025. This activity aims to empower women in irrigation development and strengthen the partnership between NIA and Irrigators' Associations.
It also aims to enhance the full participation of IA and IA women leaders as partners in irrigation development through the program of Irrigation Management Transfer, to tap the assistance of other lined agencies in the implementation of irrigation projects and programs, and to recognize viable and outstanding IAs of CY 2024.
Present during the event were 60 IAs from the National Irrigation System (NIS) and Communal Irrigation System (CIS).
As an agency that works towards more diverse leadership, NIA recognizes that events like the IA Women Leaders Cum NIA-IA Day are key to building the skills and confidence needed for lasting impact. Investing in women's leadership strengthens individuals, communities, organizations, and industries.
