Palawan- The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO), under the leadership of Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores and with the support of Regional Irrigation Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, through the Institutional Development Unit (IDU), conducted a Workshop on June 23, 2025, on Legal Compliance Requirements in conjunction with the Irrigation Management Transfer (IMT) Re-Contracting for Cluster 1 Irrigators' Associations (IAs).
This workshop aimed to enhance the organizational capacity and legal compliance of participating Irrigators' Associations (IAs), ensuring their readiness for continued partnership in the operation and maintenance (O&M) of irrigation systems under the Irrigation Management Transfer (IMT) Program. Key discussions included an overview of the IMT Program, the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), and the compliance requirements and procedures of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC)—with particular focus on the agency’s online submission system, the Electronic Filing and Submission Tool (eFAST), and its documentary requirements.
A total of eleven (11) Irrigators' Associations from Cluster 1 participated in the workshop, headed by Cluster President Consuelo Magallanes, together with key personnel from the Institutional Development Unit (IDU) of the Palawan IMO and the Regional Office.
This initiative highlighted NIA’s commitment to institutional development and the empowerment of Irrigators' Associations in Palawan, in support of efficient, accountable, and sustainable irrigation management. - Elan Vital D. Buhay, IDO A
