Palawan - As part of the 7-Point Strategic Policy Agenda of the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) headed by Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen, the NIA MIMAROPA under the management of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and Palawan IMO headed by Division Manager, Engr. Armando L. Flores, through the Institutional Development Program implementers, facilitated an Orientation on Cooperatives for Irrigators’ Associations (IAs) of Roxas and San Vicente, Palawan.
This activity, conducted in collaboration with the Roxas Municipal Cooperative Development Office (MCDO) and Provincial Cooperative Development Office (PCDO), featured Ms. Medelyn C. Adier, Cooperative Coordinator, as the resource speaker. The primary objective of this initiative was to educate IAs on the process of establishing a cooperative, aiming to enhance their agricultural bargaining power through cooperation and alignment with government agencies.
Participants of the said activity included Ms. Marilou L. Gonzales from MCDO Roxas, Irrigators' Association Officers from Roxas and San Vicente, and the Institutional Development Unit (IDU) Staff of Palawan IMO.
