As part of the National Irrigation Administration's (NIA) 61st anniversary, NIA MIMAROPA Joined the Nationwide Simultaneous Tree Planting Activity of MIMAROPA with the theme "Sibol Para sa Patubig ni BayaNIAn 2024" on July 5, 2024. This initiative directly addresses the conservation and rehabilitation of watersheds, emphasizing the importance of restoring these vital sources of irrigation.

In partnership with the Municipal Environment & Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of LGU Naujan, Provincial Government Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGENRO), and the Provincial Agriculture Office (PAgO), NIA MIMAROPA, led by Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Before planting, valuable knowledge was shared. Representatives from the PENRO, Mr. Joel Morillo and Mr. Gerry Mamigo, ensured everyone was equipped with proper seedling handling techniques. Watershed Forester Mariel Aguilar Mila then offered crucial reminders to optimize the tree planting activity.

Selected employees from the Regional Office, along with MOMARO IMO, planted 1,000 hardwood and fruit-bearing trees at the 3-hectare watershed of the Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation System (RIS) in Brgy. Mahabang Parang, Naujan, Oriental Mindoro. Additionally, Palawan IMO, headed by Division Manager Armando L. Flores, and Occidental Mindoro IMO, headed by Division Manager Raymundo L.
