NIA MIMAROPA conducts Fire Safety Training and Standardized Response Drill

Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro -In observance of Fire Prevention Month, the NIA MIMAROPA Regional Office held a Fire Safety Training and Standardized Response Drill on March 24, 2025, at the NIA Training Center in Bayanan II, to enhance employee preparedness for actual fire emergencies.

Fire Officers 1 Russel John D. Garcia and Desirie S. Yambing led the training, covering various fire safety topics and demonstrating the proper use of fire extinguishers. Selected employees then participated in practical exercises, with assistance from FO2 Christopher A. Amedo.

Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, in her address, emphasized that the training played a vital role in cultivating life-saving awareness and readiness. She quoted, 'In an emergency, it’s not the strongest who survive, but the ones who are best prepared.'

Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee (EPRCom) Team Leader and NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes emphasized the importance of the activity and urged employees to apply the learned skills not only in the workplace but also at home and within their communities.
