Gloria, Oriental Mindoro - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Central Office conducted a field evaluation and validation of the Calamundingan Lucio Laurel Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc. on June 3, 2025 at Lucio Laurel. The results of this activity served as the basis for determining the IA’s qualifications for the Annual Search for the National Outstanding Irrigators’ Associations Performers.
The validation team was led by CDO IV Maricel Del Rosario and included CDO III Lorna P. Villagonzalo from the Institutional Development Division-Central Office, Engr. Hans Ray Albert P. Esguerra from the Systems Management Division, and Ms. Julie Ann De Guzman from the Budget and Revenue Division of the Financial Management Department. The team assessed the functionality of the IA based on irrigation and management-related indicators. These indicators covered the IA’s responsibilities and activities in Operation and Maintenance, Financial Performance, Organization and Organizational Discipline, Assistance Programs and Support Services, as well as Linkages and Special Features.
Following the evaluation, feedback was provided to inform the IA of its commendable practices that should be sustained and to highlight areas for improvement.
The Calamundingan Lucio Laurel Farmers Irrigators Association, Inc., led by IA President Teodoro Abayon, currently serviced an irrigated area of 313.60 hectares, benefiting 217 farmer-members.
The activity was attended by MOMARO IMO Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab; Pula-Bansud RIS OIC Engr. Benedict Santi S. Perez; Institutional Development Program (IDP) implementers led by MOMARO IMO Senior IDO Engr. Ailyn E. Aquino; and NIA MIMAROPA Regional Office Supervising IDO Engr. Ave Jane V. Alvarado.
