Aborlan, Palawan - NIA MIMAROPA Palawan IMO under the guidance of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and under the supervision of Palawan Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores held a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the completion of the Marangas II CIP.
The Marangas II CIP, funded under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program– Irrigation Component (CARP-IC) with a total budget of P25 million, involved the construction of diversion works, 3,110 meters of canal lining, and 120 meters of canal cover.
This project aims to provide efficient irrigation to 84 hectares of farmland in Barangay Marangas and will benefit 38 farmers of West Marangas Farmers Irrigators Association (IA) led by President Rodel F. Eustaquio.
During the event, Regional Manager Cervantes emphasized the importance of strengthening the Irrigators' Association and protecting the watershed. Division Manager Flores commended the teamwork and dedication of all participants that contributed to the project's successful completion.

Flores, taos puso po kaming nagpapasalamat sa project na ibinigay ninyo sa amin, matagal na po namin itong inaasam sir na maging productive ang aming lupa, sa ngayon po nakita namin totoo na ang aming inaasam at makakapag-avail na kami ng mga programa ng NIA tulad ng Contract Farming Program (Farming Support Services Program). Maraming salamat po,” said Pres. Eustaquio.
The event was also attended by Senior Engineer A Mary Grace B. Cartagena, Sangguniang Bayan (SB) member Eddie N. Sagun, Provincial Agrarian Reform Officer II Conrado S. Guevarra, DAR-CARPO PDD Remedios S. Bacuel, DAR-ARPO I Norma Jean I. Dacoco and Arman Bagongon, PARRCOM Lovimen M. Gallego, Barangay Councilor Alvin A. Abrazaldo, Secretary Ma. Nenieta N. Contreras, other Sangguniang Barangay Officials, and other representatives from NIA Palawan IMO.
NIA MIMAROPA pledge to expand irrigation services to the remote areas in the province and urges the IA to properly maintain the said infrastructure.
