San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - To re-orient and refresh employees' understanding of organizational goals, update their knowledge and skills, and ensure they were well-equipped for current and future tasks in accordance with NIA’s QMS and ISO Standards, the NIA MIMAROPA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (OMIMO) conducted a five-day orientation on the preparation of program of works and the design of canal lining and canal structures for irrigation projects. The training was held at the NIA Training Center on February 10-14, 2025.
This training aimed to provide technical staff with a deeper understanding of canal design principles, ensuring that irrigation systems met the current and future needs of farmers and stakeholders.
Present at the training were Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano, Engineering Section Chief Engr. Suzanne J. San Juan, OMIMO Division Manager Engr. Raymundo L. Calusin, Engineering, Operations and Maintenance Unit Head Engr. Emelito V. Urriquia, engineering unit and other support staff from the Regional Office and OMIMO.
With the full support of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes and the guidance of OMIMO Division Manager Calusin, NIA MIMAROPA’s effort in organizing this training aligned with its mission of improving irrigation services and maximizing the agricultural productivity of the MIMAROPA region.
