PRESS RELEASE
NIA MIMAROPA – Pursuant to the implementation of Republic Act 10969 otherwise known as Free Irrigation Service Act, NIA MIMAROPA campaigns for the condonation of irrigation service fee through production of information, education and communication (IEC) materials like brochures.
To widen information dissemination of the condonation of irrigation service fee (ISF), said materials are printed and distributed to the three Irrigation Management Offices (IMOs) in the region and was also posted in the official website and Facebook Page of NIA MIMAROPA for easier access of the public.
Tagalog was the language used to cater to the farmer beneficiaries of the agency.
Condonation
Pursuant to NIA Memorandum Circular No. 108 series 2018, condonation is the mode of extinguishment of obligation wherein the creditor gratuitously renounced his/her right against the debtor for unpaid or past due ISF, loan amortization including applicable interests and penalties.
Who can avail?
All farmers with landholdings of eight (8) hectares and below with unpaid ISF and corresponding penalties and past due accounts to NIA can avail and apply for condonation.
What are the requirements in applying for condonation of Irrigation Service Fee?
(Reference: NIA Memorandum Circular No. 91 series 2021)
All farmers who will apply for the condonation of ISF should submit the following requirements and coordinate with the nearest NIA office in their area.
- Form 3 – Request for Condonation and Writing Off of Unpaid Irrigation Service Fee per RA 10969
- Form 6 – Landowner’s Declaration and Request for Issuance of Certificate of Exemption in Payment of ISF
- Form 8 – Certification of Landholdings Issued by the IA President/Barangay Captain that the Actual Tiller is a Bonafide Holder of the Land
