Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro - With the full support of NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, NIA Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (OMIMO), led by Division Manager, Engr. Raymundo L. Calusin, conducted a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) for the restoration of the SPPF CIS project at the SPPF Reservation in Malisbong.
The MOA signing was held on January 28, 2025, at the SPPF Conference Center, Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro. Present along with Engr. Calusin were Engr. Nojario T. Baladjay Jr., Hydrologist Engr. Elson M. Castillo, Irrigators’ Development Officer A Ms. Vivian T. Dimzon, and other NIA OMIMO personnel.
The event included the reading of the MOA, outlining the rights and obligations of both parties, led by SPPF CO2 Jenus BJ G. Villaceran. Concerns were raised during the meeting; however, they were resolved amicably. This was followed by the signing of the MOA, with Engr. Calusin representing NIA OMIMO and CSINSP Abel Dr. Ciruela, MSCA, representing SPPF.
The MOA signing was deemed successful, with both parties viewing it as a successful collaboration between the two agencies. Both parties expressed hope for future collaborative projects. With this, NIA OMIMO reaffirms its dedication to planning, constructing, operating, and maintaining irrigation systems in accordance with integrated water resource management principles.
