In line with its mandate to ensure transparency and accountability in government projects, the Commission on Audit (COA) through its Technical Audit Specialist (TAS) conducted a thorough site inspection across all provinces covered by the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO).
The visit included the inspection of 30 CY 2023 projects and one CY 2024 project. These projects, located throughout the provinces of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon, were carefully assessed to ensure compliance with technical standards and proper implementation of infrastructure works.
Beyond the usual infrastructure checks, the COA TAS also evaluated the condition of unserviceable properties within the MOMARO IMO. These assets, which are no longer functional or usable, were inventoried and assessed to support proper documentation and eventual disposal, in accordance with government property regulations.
The presence of COA TAS served not only as a measure of audit compliance but also as a reaffirmation of NIA MOMARO IMO's commitment to transparency, effective project implementation, and responsible property management.
