NIA MIMAROPA PALAWAN IMO CONDUCTS ORIENTATION ON DFWP AND DRUG TESTING FOR EMPLOYEES

Puerto Princesa City, Palawan - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA, under the management of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, and NIA Palawan IMO, headed by Division Manager Engr. Armando L. Flores held an orientation on Drug Free Workplace Program (DFWP) in partnership with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Palawan, and successfully conducted drug testing for employees in collaboration with Clinica Palao laboratory, duly authorized by the Department of Health (DOH) for screening and drug tests.

ENHANCING PROJECT LEADERSHIP: PRE-DEPLOYMENT TRAINING FOR PROJECT IN CHARGE (PIC)

Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro - The recent pre-deployment training for Project-in-Charge (PIC) held at the NIA Training Center in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro, marked a significant step forward in strengthening the capabilities of key personnel in construction monitoring, supervision, and project implementation. Led by NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab, the event convened PICs to equip them with essential knowledge and skills vital for their roles.

3,845 HECTARES INCREASE IN IRRIGATED AREA EXPECTED TO BENEFIT OVER 41,000 MIMAROPA FARMERS DESPITE EL NIÑO

Under the leadership of Regional Manager Engr. Ronilio M. Cervantes, the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA Region has achieved a significant increase in irrigated/ planted area during the CY 2024 Dry Season. This increase of 3,845 hectares surpasses the figures from CY 2023 and is expected to translate to a larger harvest area benefiting 41,029 farmer-beneficiaries of National and Communal Irrigation Systems (NIS & CIS).

ENHANCING IRRIGATION SYSTEMS TO BOLSTER AGRICULTURE IN MANSALAY, ORIENTAL MINDORO

Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro - In a collaborative effort aimed at fortifying agricultural resilience in Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro, NIA Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) convened to strategize improvements in irrigation infrastructure. Senior Engineer John Rhey H. Oprido accompanied by Geodetic Engineer JC Dondon Lamoste, Hydrologist Irvin M. Moreno, and Senior Draftsman Joeriel C. Quinzon, engaged in a productive discussion with Municipal Agriculturist Jemale G. Fajutnao.
