Oriental Mindoro - To capacitate the NIA MIMAROPA Gender and Development (GAD) Focal Point System, Chairperson/ Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes leads the Training on the Formulation of GAD Agenda, GAD Strategic Framework and GAD Strategic Plan at NIA Training Center, Bayanan II, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
The GAD Agenda will give the agency the guidance in developing and evaluating GAD programs to accomplish the twin objectives of gender equality and women's empowerment. Additionally, it will provide as the basis for the annual development of the programs, activities, and projects (PAPs) that will be incorporated into the agencies' GAD Plans and Budgets (GPBs). ©GFPS TWG/ASCC AVGB
Acting Regional Manager Cervantes challenged the GFPS during the training, “It is important that we always include all the gender issues we’re encountering when we’re formulating our GAD plan. Maging observant po tayo. What are the GAD programs that are relevant sa ating mga empleyado, sa ating mga IAs [Irrigators’ Associations]… We have to look for the actions to take to reduce the gap or address those gender issues….”
“As the GAD Focal Point System Chairperson, I have to make sure that I am a catalyst of gender equality and creates an environment that is conducive to the professional growth and well-being of all my staff and all of our farmer-clientele,” Acting Regional Manager Cervantes added.
Ms. Renifer R. Francisco, an independent GAD Consultant serves as the training’s resource speaker.
The GFPS Executive Committee Engineering and Operations Division Manager Lowell L. Lozano, Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon Irrigation Management Office (MOMARO IMO) Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, Occidental Mindoro Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin and GFPS Technical Working Group (TWG) of Regional Office, MOMARO IMO, and Occidental Mindoro IMO also participate the said training. Palawan IMO Division Manager and GFPS TWG also join via virtual attendance.
Said activity was started on August 29, 2023 and will end on August 31, 2023.
