NIA MIMAROPA Equips Personnel for Efficient Irrigation Management Through O&M Plans Workshop

Calapan CIty, Oriental Mindoro - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA holds a seminar-workshop on Standard Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Plans for irrigation systems at the NIA MIMAROPA Training Center in Calapan City. This initiative equips participants with the skills to develop, implement, and assess effective O&M plans, ultimately leading to improved irrigation system efficiency.

The workshop empowers participants to create and implement efficient O&M plans, bridging competency gaps in irrigation management. This optimizes irrigation system functionality and ensures a reliable water supply for farmers.

During his opening remarks, Regional Manager Engr. Ronilo M. Cervantes highlighted the importance of continuous monitoring of irrigation facilities. He also encouraged collaboration with farmers to adopt double cropping practices in the dry season, aligning with the directive of Administrator Engr. Eduardo Eddie G. Guillen. This combined effort aims to maximize agricultural productivity in the region.

To ensure comprehensive training, the workshop brings together operations personnel from various NIA MIMAROPA offices. Personnel from the Regional Office and the Momaro (Mindoro Oriental, Marinduque, Romblon) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) are participating in person. Meanwhile, operations personnel from the Occidental Mindoro IMO and Palawan IMO are joining virtually led by their Division Managers Engr. Raymundo L. Calusin and Engr. Armando L. Flores, respectively.
