Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro - The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) MIMAROPA Region conducted the Ceremonial Leadership Turnover for the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) on February 7, 2024, at the NIA MOMARO IMO Building in Bayanan II, Calapan City Oriental Mindoro. This event marked the transition of leadership from outgoing Division Manager Engr. Gerardo R. Perez to incoming Acting Division Manager Engr. Maria Victoria O. Malenab.
The ceremony was officiated by MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager, Ronilio M. Cervantes, who emphasized the importance of continuity and effective management within the region. He commended Engr. Perez for his dedicated service and leadership during his tenure, highlighting his contributions to the efficient operation and maintenance of irrigation systems in MOMARO IMO.
Moreover, Acting Regional Manager Cervantes warmly welcomed and expressed his full support for Engr. Malenab, former Baco-Bucayao River Irrigation System (BBRIS) Head, who brought with her extensive experience in irrigation engineering and management. Having previously served as the Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Offixe (OMIMO) Acting Division Manager, she showcased her profound knowledge and expertise in the field. He also encouraged the entire MOMARO IMO staff to continue showing their support for the new Acting Division Manager to ensure the continued growth of their accomplishments.
The ceremony was attended by key officials from NIA MIMAROPA, including Engineering and Operations Division Manager Engr. Lowell L. Lozano and Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron, Administrative Section Chief Joy U. Bautista, Human Resource Unit Head Susan R. Lozano along with section chiefs and unit heads of MOMARO IMO.
This leadership turnover not only signified NIA's unwavering commitment to the region's irrigation systems but also embodied the essence of a collaborative effort towards progress and prosperity.
