San Jose, Occidental Mindoro - Under the guidance of National Irrigation Administration (NIA) - MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, the NIA – Occidental Mindoro Irrigation Management Office (OMIMO), headed by Division Manager Raymundo L. Calusin, took the initiative to organize a meeting with Second District Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) Member Hon. Ulysses P. Javier on October 13, 2023 at the Provincial Government sub-office in Magbay, San Jose.
The primary objective of this meeting was to address the resolution forwarded by the Office of the SP of Occidental Mindoro, urgently requesting the construction of irrigation systems throughout the province. They also sought technical assistance to formulate appropriate plans and programs for potential inclusion in the General Appropriations Act (GAA) for FY 2024.
During the meeting, the NIA Team, led by Engineering and Operations Section Officer-In-Charge (OIC) Nojario T. Baladjay, Jr., and accompanied by Economist Jinky E. Santos, discussed the prospective projects slated for the entire province in the year 2024. He also pledged to assess the availability of funds for other priority projects outlined by the SP Member.
Furthermore, Hon. Javier conveyed his deep appreciation to NIA for their prompt response to their call for action and offered technical assistance and support whenever required. Engr. Baladjay echoed these sentiments, assuring that NIA remains steadfast in its commitment to providing security and assistance to the agricultural community.
