NIA, IA, and Other Lined Agencies Collaborated for a Tree Planting Activity to Preserve Watersheds

Oriental Mindoro - To develop and maintain irrigation systems in support of the government's agricultural program while ensuring sustainable irrigation services, NIA, IA, and other lined agencies collaborated for a Tree Planting Activity to preserve watersheds.

Under the leadership of NIA MIMAROPA Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO), headed by Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, conducted a tree planting activity on July 25, 2023.

Moreover, this activity is part of the government's convergence program for agricultural development to foster coordination, collaboration, and synergy among various government agencies involved in agriculture, irrigation, social welfare, labor, and fisheries.

With the support of the Community Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) Roxas, Oriental Mindoro, selected employees of MOMARO IMO,  Pula RIS Federation and Irrigators Association members, barangay officials of Pambisan, Calingag, and Inclanay, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro and various aligned agencies planted 250 guyabano and 10 sahing at 1.5- hectares of watershed in the Pula River Irrigation System in Brgy. Inclanay, Pinamalayan, Oriental Mindoro.
